Formed in 1980, Bow Wow Wow is a British new wave band known for hits like "I Want Candy" and "Go Wild in the Country." Featuring Annabella Lwin, they infused music with Burundi drumming and provocative lyrics. The band left a lasting impact despite a brief initial run.
London's Wang Chung, originally Huang Chung, soared in the '80s US music scene with hits like "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" & "Dance Hall Days." Known for new wave style, they focused on the US market, collaborating with major labels like Arista & Geffen.
British synth pop duo Naked Eyes, formed in 1981, gained fame with hits like "Always Something There to Remind Me." Known for early '80s success and MTV presence, their album 'Burning Bridges' was big in the US. Collaborated as schoolmates, disbanded post-1984 album flop. Fisher died in 1999.
Tommy Tutone, led by Tommy Heath and Jim Keller, rose to fame with the 1981 hit "867-5309/Jenny," reaching No. 4 and earning gold status. Despite their early success, they disbanded after 1983's *National Emotion*. Heath revived the name in 1994 with *Nervous Love* and continued releases like *Tutone.rtf* in 1998.
