Orange County punk legends D.I., led by vocalist Casey Royer since 1981, known for blending surf, pop, and dark humor. Hits include 1986's "Horse Bites Dog Cries". Notable for impactful lyrics and buzzy guitars. Collaborated with members of Adolescents and Social Distortion.
Formed in Van Nuys, CA, in 1978, the Angry Samoans, led by "Metal" Mike Saunders and Gregg Turner, are known for satirical punk with hits like "Get Off the Air." Influenced by garage rock, they debuted with "Inside My Brain" in 1980. After disbanding in 1988, they reunited with lineup changes, maintaining a vital punk presence.
