Soul II Soul, led by Jazzie B, emerged from London in the late '80s blending hip-hop, house, and R&B. Known for hits "Keep On Movin'" and "Back to Life," the group achieved Grammy wins, international acclaim, and U.K. chart success. Featuring rotating vocalists like Caron Wheeler, they released several successful albums and singles throughout the '90s. Despite disbanding by the decade's end, Jazzie B, awarded an OBE, continues to lead reunion performances.
Horse Meat Disco, a London-based DJ collective, is renowned for revitalizing disco with global residencies in Berlin, New York, and Lisbon. Known for their creative, freewheeling style, they gained fame through residencies and collaborations with Luke Solomon. Their debut album "Love and Dancing" showcases original disco, demonstrating the genre's vibrant future.
Born in New York to Dominican parents, Roger Sanchez became a leading house DJ and remixer. Known for hits like "Luv Dancin," he worked with stars like Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. A key figure in Strictly Rhythm, Sanchez won a Grammy for No Doubt's "Hella Good" remix. His radio show, Release Yourself, won an International Dance Music Award for Best Podcast. Sanchez's labels include Narcotic and Stealth, showcasing his prolific mix and production talent.
K-Klass, born out of the Hacienda's "Nude" nights in 1988, are iconic house DJs and producers. Known for "Rhythm is a Mystery" and "Let Me Show You," they've remixed for stars, curated CREAM events, and played globally for top dance brands.
Born in London, Alison Limerick started her career in the mid-'80s. Known for hits like "Where Love Lives," she collaborated with David Morales and Frankie Knuckles and contributed to This Mortal Coil.
