William Elliott Whitmore, born in Lee County, Iowa, crafts intense blues and gospel-inspired Americana music. Known for his raw voice, he debuted with "Hymns for the Hopeless" in 2003. Known for hits like "After All This Time," he played with Emmylou Harris & the Hot Band, and was married to Rosanne Cash. Crowell's acclaimed albums include Diamonds & Dirt and Tarpaper Sky. He's collaborated with icons like Bob Seger and Jeff Tweedy, and earned fame for his insightful lyrics and storytelling.
