Sofia Renee Jimenez Alvarado, known mononymously as RENEE, is a Mexican singer-songwriter from Monterrey. Born in 1995, she began writing songs as a teenager and studied music formally before launching her professional career, releasing her debut album Breve Espacio in 2020 after signing with EMI/Universal. Drawing musical inspiration from effervescent pop artists like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, she established a large social media following, won a Latin Grammy in 2025 for Best Rock Song with "La Torre," and achieved viral TikTok success with her 2023 single "Nunca Tristes (Me vale madre)" from her sophomore album NMDQH.
