Known for Grammy-winning albums and collaborations with D'Angelo and Erykah Badu, he played a defining role in neo soul. As a producer, author, and DJ, he's gained acclaim for directing "Summer of Soul," earning an Oscar. The Roots became Jimmy Fallon’s house band, enhancing his hip-hop ambassador status. With projects like "Plumb," his versatile talents continue to influence music and culture worldwide.
