Pig Destroyer, formed in 1997 in Alexandria, VA, pioneered East Coast grindcore with intense, bass-less chaos. Signed to Relapse, their landmark 2001 album "Prowler in the Yard" saw collaborations with bands like Converge. Their sound evolved from grindcore to doom-sludge, adding bassist John Jarvis and experimental elements in albums like "Head Cage." Consistent East Coast tours and splits with bands like Orchid and Isis expanded their influence.

Tristan Shone, born behind Author & Punisher, blends engineering and art to create sound with custom machines. Known for tracks like “Misery” and “Centurion," he's collaborated with members of Tool and Perturbator.
