LineUp

Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer of the late Romantic and early modern periods, widely regarded as his country's greatest composer. He is known for his significant contributions to symphonic and orchestral music, including his set of seven symphonies, the violin concerto, and symphonic tone poems such as Finlandia. His music drew heavily on Finnish myths and legends, particularly the epic poem Kalevala, and played an important role in the formation of the Finnish national identity.
Founded in Indianapolis (1930), Indiana’s largest arts group plays 200 concerts/350K yearly; 30+ classical & pops recordings; Carnegie Hall/Europe tours; with Hamelin.
Edvard Hagerup Grieg was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. Born in Bergen in 1843, he was taught piano by his mother and later studied at the Leipzig Conservatory. His use of traditional Norwegian folk music in his own compositions brought the music of Norway to international fame and helped develop a national cultural identity. His most celebrated works include the incidental music to Peer Gynt, the Piano Concerto in A Minor, and his ten collections of Lyric Pieces for solo piano.
