George Frideric Handel was a German-British Baroque composer well-known for his operas, oratorios, anthems, concerti grossi, and organ concertos. Born in Halle, Germany, in 1685, he spent his early career in Hamburg and Italy before settling permanently in London in 1712, where he became a naturalized British subject. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), born in Eisenach, Germany, was a pivotal Baroque composer.
