LineUp

The Icicle Works, a Liverpool group formed in 1980, were known for their big-sounding guitar rock. They scored a U.S. hit with "Whisper to a Scream." The band featured Ian McNabb, Chris Sharrock, and Chris Layhe. Their U.S. success came with their self-titled debut album. They had several albums but disbanded after "Permanent Damage" in 1990. McNabb later pursued a solo folk-rock career.
NJ band Dramarama, blending hard rock, alternative, and punk, was formed in 1983 by John Easdale. Known for the hit "Anything Anything" and albums like Cinema Verite. Despite potential, they never had a major breakthrough, disbanding in 1994 but reforming in 2004.
Big Country, formed by Stuart Adamson in 1981, is known for its Celtic rock style with hits like "In a Big Country" and "Wonderland." Their debut, *The Crossing,* went platinum in the UK and gold in the US. Despite changes in lineup, they continued releasing music into the next century. Collaborations include Ray Davies, and notable albums like *Steeltown* and *The Seer* kept them in the charts. Stuart Adamson, originally from England, battled personal issues and was found deceased in 2001.
Formed in 1980, B-Movie was initially part of the New Romantic scene. Known for hits like "Nowhere Girl," they blend Psychedelic and Post Punk styles. Disbanded in 1983, they reunited in 2004, still performing strong in the UK and Europe.
Men Without Hats, new wave pioneers, led by the Doroschuks & joined by Sho Murray & Sahara Sloan, continue their synth-pop legacy. Known for "The Safety Dance" & global tours, they've recently had hits inducted into the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame.
Born near Liverpool, China Crisis, led by Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon, mixed pop with political themes and reggae. Known for hits like "Wishful Thinking" and collaborations with Steely Dan's Walter Becker, they achieved U.K. chart success and a U.S. Billboard entry.
The Vapors, a UK New Wave band from Surrey, formed in the late 70s. Discovered by The Jam's Bruce Foxton, they toured in 1979. Known for "Turning Japanese," which hit UK No. 3 and Billboard Top 40, from their debut "New Clear Days." Their second album "Magnets" included "Jimmie Jones." They disbanded in 1982, but reformed in 2016, still performing.
