Mary Jo Young, professionally known as maryjo, is an American pop singer-songwriter born in Knoxville and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She first gained a large following by posting performance videos on TikTok before rising to widespread prominence as a contestant on season 19 of American Idol in 2021. She debuted with the emotionally rich ballad Love Fools, produced by Gordon Mote, and has since released standout singles such as Don't Call Me and Nothing to Lose, alongside a major collaboration with artist CYRIL.
