Jerrod Carmichael, born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is an American comedian, actor, writer, and filmmaker. He is known for his sharp wit, insightful stand-up, and exploring complex social issues. His notable HBO specials include "Love at the Store", "8", "Rothaniel", which earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Writing, and "Don't Be Gay". He also co-created "The Carmichael Show" and hosted the 80th Golden Globe Awards.
