George Clinton, born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, is a funk music innovator and the mastermind behind Parliament-Funkadelic. Known as the "Godfather of Funk," his eclectic style blends Afrofuturism, psychedelia, and humor. Popular for "Atomic Dog" and "Flash Light," he influenced hip-hop and collaborated with Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar. Clinton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
