LineUp

Pig Destroyer, formed in 1997 in Alexandria, VA, pioneered East Coast grindcore with intense, bass-less chaos. Signed to Relapse, their landmark 2001 album "Prowler in the Yard" saw collaborations with bands like Converge. Their sound evolved from grindcore to doom-sludge, adding bassist John Jarvis and experimental elements in albums like "Head Cage." Consistent East Coast tours and splits with bands like Orchid and Isis expanded their influence.
Maul, known for their Midwest Death style, blend death metal with hardcore and sludge influences. Their record "In the Jaws of Bereavement" showcases their unique sound.
EXODUS, hailing from the Bay Area, are thrash metal icons known for their intense and versatile music. They've released albums like "Bonded By Blood," collaborated with Andy Sneap, and remain masters of the genre.
Oakland-based Vastum, featuring members from Acephalix and Necrot, blend death and doom metal with erotic and psychoanalytic themes. Debut: "Carnal Law" (2011).
