Colosseum and Soft Machine

Originally a psychedelic rock band, Soft Machine led British progressive rock and jazz-rock fusion. Known for the '68 album "Volume One," they influenced many including Caravan and Gong. Key albums include "Third" and "Fourth." Members included Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayers, and Elton Dean.

Colosseum, a pioneering British prog-rock band, blended rock with jazz and blues. Formed in 1968 by Heckstall-Smith, Reeves, and Hiseman, they gained fame with albums like "Those Who Are About to Die Salute You" and "Valentyne Suite." Despite never having a major hit, they earned a loyal following, collaborating with talents like Gary Moore. They reunited in 1994 for tours and recordings until their last album, "Time on Our Side," in 2014.
