Founded in 1881, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, supported by banker Henry Lee Higginson, is a pillar of U.S. orchestral culture. Andris Nelsons, Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Gewandhauskapellmeister in Leipzig, is a two-time Grammy winner renowned for innovative conducting, particularly in Bruckner’s symphonies.
Born in Russia, Daniil Trifonov is a celebrated pianist and composer known for his transcendent performances and astounding technique. Winner of the 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition, he has been praised by Martha Argerich and acclaimed critics for his unique blend of power and poetry. Trifonov premiered his First Piano Concerto in 2014, showcasing his inventive brilliance and individuality.
