Iris DeMent, born in the U.S., is a celebrated singer-songwriter known for her unique voice and melodies rooted in hymns and gospel. Her debut, Infamous Angel, is among Rolling Stone's "greatest country albums." DeMent's albums My Life and The Way I Should were GRAMMY-nominated, and she founded her own label in 2004. Notable works include Lifeline and Sing The Delta, with NPR calling her one of the great voices in contemporary music.
