LineUp

America, formed by U.S. Air Force sons Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek, and Gerry Beckley in the U.K., became 1970s folk-rock icons. Known for harmonies and hits like "A Horse with No Name," they won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1972. Key tracks include "Ventura Highway," "Tin Man," and "Sister Golden Hair." Producer George Martin revived their chart success. Peek left in 1977; the band continued as a duo, scoring hits like "You Can Do Magic." They collaborated with artists like Adam Schlesinger, celebrated 50 years in 2019, and continued to tour despite members' passings.
Henry Kapono, native Hawaiian, Grammy-nominated artist with 21 Nā Hōkū Awards, is famous for his "Dukes on Sunday" concerts and heading Kapono Inc. His Henry Kapono Foundation supports Hawaii's music industry.
