Tony Furtado, from Pleasanton, CA, now in Portland, OR, is a soulful singer and multi-instrumentalist known for his mastery of banjo and slide guitar. He won the National Bluegrass Banjo Championship in 1987 and recorded six acclaimed albums with Rounder Records, collaborating with Alison Krauss and more. Inspired by Ry Cooder, he added slide guitar and songwriting to his repertoire, touring with legends like Gregg Allman and Derek Trucks.
